The Thursday Manifesto

Četrtek is a group of creative, open-minded individuals working in the field of design and are aware that design decisions have wide-ranging implications for society and the natural environment.

Our association upholds the values of solidarity, social inclusion, environmental regeneration and sustainability, which we not only advocate but also actively put into practice and reflect in our decisions within the association. We are aware of the pressing environmental crisis and strive to address it in an inclusive and just way through our design work.

We put at the forefront of our work design that is not just about acquiring capital, but design that serves people. We aim to create solutions that improve people’s quality of life, while being sustainable and in harmony with the natural environment.

Četrtek is based on the principle of freedom of choice and involvement in the activities of the association to the best of each individual’s ability. The association supports the individual, according to the capabilities of the association and the needs of the individual. We believe in the power of community and cooperation between equal individuals, as this is the only way to achieve quality holistic solutions.

Četrtek and its members does not support hierarchical and individualistic tendencies. We present ourselves to the public as a collective of autonomous individuals. We are aware that we all need help and are capable of helping others. We uphold the belief in cooperation and solidarity and that through this we can achieve the best results.

Our association operates on the principle of member self-management, where hierarchical roles are only for cooperation with external hierarchies. At the association level, however, hierarchical power is exercised only under the dictates of the membership, where decisions are made democratically and in accordance with the interests of the whole association.

The Četrtek association strives to create a better society through the design for users embedded in a wide web of living things. Cooperation, solidarity and self-management are the fundamental values that guide us on our journey. Together, we strive to bring about positive change and create a world that is in harmony with all living things and the natural environment.
